Chris Gardner gives us a true life rags-to-riches story in his book The Pursuit of Happyness. Gardner goes from an impoverished childhood to becoming a wealthy stock broker on Wall street, but faces many obstacles along the way. This wonderful book depicts his life story from the sad and uplifting memories he shares from his childhood to the motivational and inspiring dedication to education and hard work that were a major part of his success.
This book is so much better than the movie, and helps you understand where Gardner started, making where he ends up an even bigger accomplishment. I highly recommend this read to anyone, but violence and sexuality make this book inappropriate for young readers.
