Confessions of a Shopaholic is a fun, cute, entertaining read that will have you laughing out loud. The main character, Becky, is a likeable English woman who has a major shopping addiction, but does not have the major funds to support it. Written from Becky’s point of view, Confessions of a Shopaholic gives us a glimpse inside Becky’s head and allows us to follow her thought process and the reasoning behind her purchases. Through her justifications, I see glimpses into my own spending habits and excuses.
I recommend this book to any student who enjoys shopping. It’s not great literature, but instead, a cute read for any student to easily follow. There is, however, a serious underlying theme of the dangers of getting yourself into financial troubles, and we can all learn some lessons from Becky.
